Project PI @RuthAhnert.bsky.social :

Lovely article from our publishers at @uolpress.bsky.social about bringing the Living With Machines book to life 'Through Experimental Publishing Workflows and Open Research Practices'. It's been so great working with Emma and Jamie on this! https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/leap.2025

Congratulations to Josh Rhodes @joshrhodes.bsky.social‬ for his article on geo-coding addresses of 121 million + people in British censuses 1851-1911 now out with Historical Methods!

- map any census info (ages, occupations, birthplaces etc) by address

- link census to other spatial datasets

Have you seen the video case studies coming out from our project?

How did the project look at rail infrastructure and the impact it had on people living near it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTgNLI-3lJA

Folk musicians describe the process of bringing songs about the industrial revolution back to life for our exhibition in 2022: 'It’s amazing how you find yourself singing these songs from a hundred years ago and realising that the things they describe are still happening.'

Delighted that one of our exhibition photos made it onto Flickr Explore as part of Flickr Commons 16th birthday celebrations!

This factory clocking-in clock was part of a section on how mechanisation changed our sense of time
