Clerotri is the google free client for android (on the Stoat/Revolt wiki they have a list of 3rd party clients), and it’s recommended if you’re using GrapheneOS.
As for mobile voice chat, the strange thing is Clerotri has it while the official app doesn’t.

TBF fluxer doesn’t paywall anything if you host it yourself (since you’re obviously not tied to their infrastructure)

I feel like I’ve been caught by the hyperbole here, but there are discord alternatives with all those features.

Yup, FreeCAD, Cura slicer, and my printer only hooked up to the outlet.
Theoretically you could also make your own printer from scratch with a few DVD drives and hard drives from a local ewaste facility.

I wonder if FEX (Valve's X86 to ARM conversion software) could run this now on an android phone. The game's freely distributed on PC, so it should be easy to test.

Snowden was in 2013, bro.
Use a client for video content like Grayjay (gets rid of the ads too).
Look at Tuta Mail or Proton Mail as viable privacy focused alternatives.

Just a heads up - you don’t have to self-censor names on lemmy. These are communities, not corporate servers.

I was under the impression that the barrier for the friend’s modern mac being unable to read the drive was due to the lack of hardware interface. Is there a greater barrier than that for the data?

Have you tried creating a period-accurate Mac VM, allowing passthrough of the drive peripheral to the VM, then copying the data from the VM to something like a Mac format flashdrive?

NVIDIA handles hardware design and software components, TSMC handles actual silicon manufacturing, and a third party handles assembly. This is the case for nearly all hardware companies outside of Intel, Samsung, and a few domestic companies in the PRC.

60hz is a measure of screen refresh rate, so a cap of 60fps max, no matter the screen’s actual capabilities.
As an electrical engineering student myself, I worry about your dad lol

Ironfox is pretty much just for android, it’s essentially the Librewolf model but has less aggressive default settings.

Librewolf’s automatic cap at 60hz (anti-fingerprinting measure, I know, but annoying AF), and elements that break websites usually are the parts that turn people away. I’d rather use something like IronFox or Waterfox instead and just customize them.

Known bot harbors could be defederated. Perhaps even instance size limits may be imposed (requiring new instances to “prove themselves”.

Lol, lmao even.
Only thing I see changing is the production budget decreasing for higher margins on their films.

Thing is, at the scale that a home server is likely to be providing, you don’t really need an upgrade at all for any of the components except storage and maybe a 2.5gig ethernet card depending on services available.
Also, like the other commenter said: SSDs. SATA ones (unless you have free PCIE lanes then use an m.sata adapter board).

For a personal server, just buy a liquidated office/business workstation and add storage as needed. Probably will still be cheap since the win10 EOL has lead a bunch of those machines onto auction sites.
