Is there a way around Apple not allowing creation of new Apple IDs attached to your phone number? It seems impossible to create new accounts for things like Search AD API access, because it always blocks me at the phone verification stage.

One key design principle for Drafts has always been for it to feel snappy. As such, I’ve always tried to use animations judiciously and with purpose...and keep them brief.
Seems like, at least back in 2012, most animation examples used 0.3s durations...so I stuck to 0.2s or less.

Turns out if you bend over backwards to cache and re-use instances of attribute values (like paragraph styles and fonts), and aggressively compare existing attributes on a string to avoid *ever* modifying an attribute that is already applied to a range, you can squeeze some pretty big performance gains out of your NSTextStorage.

Our elderly, indoor cat got out last week. With no sightings in days, we were resigning ourselves to her not returning, but she was spotted this morning about a mile away and is home safe ❤️
…and I would now like to go personally slap every one who felt the most important thing to share on our neighborhood forum posts, or in-person as we walked around searching, was anecdotes about how many coyotes and foxes there are in the area. Seriously, screw you. Not helpful.

@gruber@mastodon.social I've always thought they were going for making the impression, both on their shelves and in your pantry, that these products are sourced from exotic vendors around the world (“traders”) rather than all just being white label brands…which, makes sense as a strategy.
