I just discovered that AI can generate code for OpenSCAD, so you can generate files for 3D printing with just geometric descriptions. Part of my company's work is training in 3D design. It had better start pivoting toward other fields. #AI #3Ddesign

@selea@social.linux.pizza Oh, what's the recommended number of rooms? I think I'm at about six or seven. Too many? I hadn't stopped to think that this would screw up the "nice things". Maybe many others didn't know either. An announcement on the linux.pizza channel would be a good preventive measure.

PriceGhost is a service that you can run on your server to check the prices of products on Amazon, Aliexpress, etc. at the frequency you select. In addition, if you create a Telegram bot, you can configure it to send you notifications in case of price changes. This way, you don't have to constantly check the price either in the online store or on the PriceGhost web interface. At the moment, it is running in a Docker container on my home server and works like a charm. https://github.com/clucraft/PriceGhost #selfhosted #docker

OpenClaw goes rogue on Meta exec, deletes emails without permission https://www.thedailystar.net/tech-startup/news/openclaw-goes-rogue-meta-exec-deletes-emails-without-permission-4113741

"Nothing humbles you like telling your OpenClaw 'confirm before acting' and watching it speedrun deleting your inbox. I couldn't stop it from my phone. I had to run to my Mac mini like I was defusing a bomb".

Allowing AI to access and manage your email seems incredibly irresponsible to me. If this is being done by the Director of Alignment at Meta Superintelligence Labs, I don't even want to think about the damage AI could do to people without computer skills.

Anyone who uses Firefox nowadays does so as an act of rebellion against the Evil Corp, meaning they usually know what they're doing and why. However, Firefox is heading in a different direction and isn't listening to its user community.

Want to know what they want for their browser? Ask them. You can do this through market research or a damn online survey. It's not that hard.

I can't watch videos on a sports news website because they won't play without showing the ads first. I open the app for that website and they still won't play because I use pfBlocker-NG on pfSense to block the ads.

Deleting the website from my favorites and ditching the app in 3, 2, 1...

What a shitty Internet.

Keep Android Open https://keepandroidopen.org/ "You, the consumer, purchased your Android device believing in Google’s promise that it was an open computing platform and that you could run whatever software you choose on it. Instead, as of September 2026, they will be non-consensually pushing an update to your operating system that irrevocably blocks this right and leaves you at the mercy of their judgement over what software you are permitted to trust". Do you know the fable of the scorpion and the frog? Well, Google is the scorpion and we are the frogs. #android

My parents recently traveled to a European capital and asked a police officer where the city center was. “You're in it,” he replied.

When you live in the most densely populated area in Europe, everything seems like the countryside.

I bought a TV and it wouldn't let me past the first setup screen unless I installed an app and gave it Internet access. I figured as much... What I didn't expect was that they would be so explicit about their spying: a big message popped up warning me that the TV channel I was watching would collect viewing data. Fuck you guys. F.u.c.k.y.o.u.

Tomorrow I'll set up the rules in pfSense so I can virtually give all these bastards the middle finger.

I feel like Don Quixote fighting windmills.

8TB hard drive, over 230 euros. 8TB external hard drive (mounted in USB enclosure), 185 euros. Anyway, I'll buy a knife to open the damn case and get what I want. The things you have to do to save a few euros! This is crazy.

I have a dual extrusion 3D printer. I could try to be productive, learn new things, and set myself technical challenges... But since I'm a kid in an adult's body, I'm going to print cool masks for my two cats. My neighbors are going to flip out. #3dprinting

When I build a website, I always focus on the backend first, making sure everything works. I always start with the most difficult part and leave the frontend for last because, in theory, it's easier. And it's always the same: 25% of the time is spent on the backend and 75% on the frontend. How is this possible? JS and PHP are really tough, and HTML with CSS is a piece of cake, right? Right?!

@vantablack@cyberpunk.lol sudo pacman-key --refresh-keys And then: sudo pacman -S archlinux-keyring It worked for me in the past, as I see on my notes. If not: sudo cp -r /var/lib/pacman/sync /var/lib/pacman/sync_backup And then: sudo rm -r /var/lib/pacman/sync And try to update again.
