This was a commission started near the end of 2024. I thought I had done the commission but it turned out I'd misread the request. So I started this second, more correct, version. Then the election happened and I was thrown into a creative slump/tailspin. I'd pick it and do small bits over 2025 and I did a lot of other drawings over the year, but every time I picked it up to work on it, it brought the election into mind. It was a sort of creative PTSD. Finally I was determined to finish it, now in 2026. To confront the emotional baggage cause I finished it during the state of the union address. It's a relief to finally have it done and I'm ashamed it took me so long to push through it.

It's that time of year again; working on bookmarks for Free Comic Book Day. To get started I just sketched poses in the 5-up template. Then I'll add costumes/suits. Then I'll ink. And finally I'll get around to coloring them. Doing them in this assembly line process is easier on my that trying to do one set of 5 from start to finish for reason. Once I get the 8 sets done I'll put a out a call for characters people would like to see bookmarks of.
