The Seahawks just got crowned this year's #SuperbOwl? Yeesh, apparently people can't distinguish one raptor from another??

Fedi folks: Any advice on how to best cope with a hot-desking work environment? We got a "return to office" mandate, but we no longer have a normal office to return to! My dept gave up most of our office space in 2020, and we're going to be stuck with a crowded hot-desking setup (2 days/week) for quite a while.

I'd appreciate any and all advice for how to make it less bad: physical, emotional, social, auditory, visual, etc. I have a little space to store things in my bike-commute locker.

Sometimes scientific peer review CAN work well! I'm reviewing a paper, and in the first round I called out some serious gaps in their analysis that were going to take a fair bit of work to fix. And it feels like success when the authors responded with:

"Many thanks to this reviewer for their positive and constructive comments! As described below, we have made extensive revisions to address the reviewer suggestions about [X, Y, and Z]. We feel that the paper is markedly improved as a result."

"At this time, please put away your tray tables and raise your seat backs to their full upright and most uncomfortable position." (yes, that was a real flight attendant announcement!)

A couple more simple ways to help push back against ICE's reign of terror:

Call your congresscritters! The DHS appropriations bill has passed the House and is heading to the Senate this week, so for your senators be sure to emphasize defunding ICE.
