In Canada, high earners are taxed at 50% for annual income more than $200,000. This means if a $200,000 earner gets a raise to $300,000, he keeps $50,000 of that $100,000 raise and gives the other $50,000 to the government.

No place of privilege for me. I belong to the working poor class. Few assets, little income. Creating and promoting a new democracy has not been financially rewarding.
A lot of MAGA people talk like they are ready for the fight. A few are, but most will quit at the first experience of soldier hardship. I suspect many antifa warriors will be the same.
Until talk turns to sustained action, I will assume it is mostly talk.

Good point. Violence has shaped many power structures.
My understanding of history is that we are getting better, but there is a long way to go. We might be making a few backward steps in the near future.
As I have alluded to in this thread, people will make their own decisions in this near future.
My mission is to build a new democracy. It can be built during "more violent" times. People can choose to build it.
This new democracy should be less violent.
