I didn't like Kaidan when I tried it but it does seem to be quite actively developed at least... and just added support for voice calls

was interested to try Dino for XMPP since it supports voice calls and Gajim does not, but it's yet another gnomified GTK4 app :blobfacepalm:

some dopaminergic subsystem has been out of whack for like a week, how I know is because of a massive uptick of bits of song lyrics repeating in my head (which also correlates strongly with withdrawal from a particular med with dopaminergic activity) and weird fluctuations in wakefulness, sensitivity to stimulants, etc.
however I *think* (if I don't fuck up this weekeng) based on past experience that my sleep cycle may un-shift over the next few days.

first 3 days of sleeping with no beanie were less unpleasant than expected, probably due to accumulated sleep deprivation. between that and artificial sunrise tweaks, the increased light delivery thru closed eyelids is definitely having an effect on my wakeup time, but my cycle is still shifted late despite evening melatonin happening on schedule. not too unusual. however I will be stay elsewhere Friday thru Sunday (away from the light exposure) so that puts a wrinkle in things.

regarding the "AI hit piece" post going around: it's put me past a tipping point. I don't think the tech is inherently evil and I don't buy half of what anti-genAI zealots say, but I've now turned the corner to thinking it's time to fight big-tech "AI" by any means necessary to drag out their schemes until the torrent of venture capital implodes. the current trajectory needs to be arrested, and megacorps pushing this shit need to be put back on their asses. #genAI #generativeAI #AIslop #fuckAI
