Am I the only person with approximately 40 open tabs in my browser?
Searching the internet for useful information has become quite hard nowadays... 🤯

Misuse of a washing machine -- a typical result.
I used regular laundry detergent instead of the correct cleaning agent.

Damn, some stupid fart had it's firewall misconfigured (me!) and wondered himself, why some things stopped working. 😡
Additionally I'm not sure of my dynamic IP update script works 100%.
Let's take a nap, we'll see tomorrow how well that went...

Heya people!
This is me, Dominic, with an #introduction of me and my little selfhosted mastodon instance.
I do have several services running in my little network and it was also time for the social media thing to find a place within.
Zero to low-latency and it's own translation service as well as it's own search database are currently set up.
But enough about the backend -- I turned 40 this year and have always had a soft spot for technology. Sometimes I enjoy finding solutions to everyday problems. Sometimes I enjoy building a new antenna for HF operations. On other days I enjoy building some useful stuff out of metal or wood. I also weld occasionally or build something out of concrete.
I am a formwork builder in the construction industry, but I trained as an electrician. I had the oppurtunity to get to know all the Cisco CCNA courses back in school, but I didn't get around to taking the exam because I dropped out of school beforehand.
That's why I do all the technical “stuff” in my free time. I host a blog about #amateurradio and some computer related topics like #linux or #selfhosting on a VPS located in Germany.
In addition to technology, I love nature and enjoy going to the mountains. Some days, I find a quiet spot and lie there in the sun for an hour or two, enjoying the peace and quiet.
I would like to write about my findings on this instance.
