RE: @elifyalvac@tldr.nettime.org

I got a lot of responses and I really appreciate it. Some of them are boost and really good perspectives, seeing the valuable sides of it like connecting with others and documenting a journey for your own reference, and not being affected by what others do or say, therefore being confident and strong with that.

I will share a general conclusion once it is complete and once I can take it in. Just to clarify, as I am getting unsolicited advice on how I should release physicals—how do you assume that everyone can afford that or maybe people want to avoid releasing plastic material for ecological reasons???smh--or points that seem to misunderstand the question:

I was thinking this from another perspective: around 99,000 to 120,000 tracks are being released everyday. Does the world need more content? It was about too much content: In my own experience from the listener perspective, I changed my listening habits to revisiting my earlier methods like going onto soma.fm channels, enjoying physical releases: I have no streaming subscription. I only stream through bandcamp mostly. From the musician’s perspective, releasing music helped me change my life, in very positive ways: I can’t list it enough. But I am someone who likes to present it live and I am fed up with gatekeepers who can afford PR and marketing or whose labels and PR agents are the monopolies that keep putting the same stuff in the Wire magazine, which affects who can be booked to perform in venues and festivals: This means that these people block your way into the scene but I did hack the way and I could bypass this through organic and genuine connections, and that’s one of the reasons I enjoy being here. But I wouldn’t like to keep posting my content to others, almost adding to the footprint of too much content shared. Hope this explains why I asked this.

Éliane Radigue… I am shocked and so sad. Rest in peace, you made history. You helped shape electronic music and beyond.

Continuing on some of the wonderful things about Fediverse: I’ve been meaning to share some lovely merch I got through my explorations here. Love my new shirts so I’m adding an image here. I’ve been enjoying recreational Maths with @christianp@mathstodon.xyz’s works at https://somethingorotherwhatever.com/ and I was inspired to order some shirts he made, from https://aperiodical.teemill.com/ including one with Look-and-Say sequence. Many thanks

Always going back to Untilted. So wild and harsh, brutal. Relentless. Probably why I enjoyed AE’s recent gigs a lot. Augmatic Disport, LCC, Ipacial Section, Sublimit… or just most tracks really.. They have elements that are not dissimilar to what you experience in some of decent works from speedcore scene

@sdem@mastodon.online @tsrono@mastodon.social should have known from 28 gun bad boy. DJs sped up version became the original release version apparently. Didn’t know he was doing livestreams. I mean I barely log into Instagram now but his FB posts were looking a bit funny… anyway it’d be good to see som excerpts from those sessions

🎂 🙌 🍾
Native Habitat of Astounding Music
Network Hub for Arresting Music
Newfangled Home of Amazing Music

The way I discovered NHAM was when I wanted to find out about “Fair music” platforms and alternatives, and then I accessed this informative post https://nham.co.uk/2024/05/what-is-a-fair-music-platform/

Then I found out so much more on the website. Good to stay tuned in fediverse too!

Independent Sounds for Lovers of Good Music
Music Discovery Without the Bullshit

ps: Editing to add, "New Haven for Awesome Music” or "Nexus Haven of Astonishing Music” all slogans/titles NHAM came up with, see them on the website :)
