Lately, I think I've learned to enjoy your surroundings a bit more. Over where I'm at, today's weather is nice, and it's quite sunny outside! At least, right now it is, but I anticipate it to stay that way for today :)

Technical question: is there any #audio editor, #DAW, or similar that renders a #waveform by using path-based rendering? For example, is there any software that reads audio data and creates a path from it? I've long had the idea to experiment with using paths in the rendering of a waveform on screen, mainly because I'd be interested in such a thing. Maybe if I can come up with some experimental code to look at such then I will share that here 👀

Here's an idea for libid3tag: implement support for ID3 chapters. While technically not "standard" in any ID3 spec, I find that this would be a nice feature to have and even implement in Tenacity too. I'll proceed with such an undertaking. It would be the first feature in the library in over 20 years when you think about it too 🤯

Here's an interesting #wxWidgets quirk: under GTK 3 under Wayland in KDE, if a wxPopupWindow does _not_ have a parent, it will have a frame around it. Otherwise, it won't have one. I don't think this is a bug or anything, I think it might just be behavior under Wayland. And yes, expect a draft PR with working undockable toolbars under Wayland.

Ok, so as expected, we have the same scaling issues in 1.3.4 applicable to the latest nightly. Now it's time to experiment with some changes to the manifest and maybe code as well 👀

Looks like #MUO is taking a little note to #Tenacity: https://www.makeuseof.com/rebuilt-windows-setup-using-only-free-open-source-apps It's only a small mention, but it's still nice to see! 😄

#TIL that you can work with multiple branches in #Git simultaneously via git worktree. I think this will certainly help make #Tenacity maintenance much easier as I won't have to keep switching between different branches and perform virtually an entire rebuild between the latest stable and development branches. This way, I could more easily test two branches in parallel. I think this will make Tenacity maintenance MUCH easier! I'm very excited to see how this will improve my workflow too! 😄

Also my biggest concern was #Android support (or lack thereof), but that's mitigated by the fact that #KleverNote is pretty transparent for how it saves notes. It basically doesn't hide the fact that it's just creating Markdown files for you and such. There's also to-do list support in KleverNotes, which I instantly discovered. However, I'm certain Joplin has the same functionality somewhere, and I just haven't discovered it.

In all other news I'm looking at switching to #KleverNote over from #Joplin for Markdown-based #notes simply because it may be lighter on system resources. I am aware that Joplin is #Electron-based, and unfortunately, Electron-based apps are not the best when it comes to resource usage. At least, doing a quick RAM usage test between the two shows that KleverNote, in my test case, used almost half of the RAM Joplin used, but that was just looking at System Monitor's memory usage for the two. Maybe it's because I didn't have as many notes as compared to Joplin, but unless there's something huge going on, I doubt that KleverNote would use the same amount of memory Joplin does when it has the same notes. Anyways, we'll see how it works out! 😄

Ok. I finally bought a new laptop (a #ThinkPad) and it should be coming hopefully soon. It's being held up right now, but I hope that gets resolved quickly because it would be nice to have some good computational power again. I did spend a good fortune on it, and I hope this lasts at least as long as my previous one (which I would've been using had it not died on me :( I will also admit, this is part of the reason why I haven't been as active with @tenacity@floss.social so much, but it's not the main reason. As I've hinted before, the main reason was due to personal issues, which are unfortunately still ongoing as of now. However, I am cautiously optimistic as of today, but since things are *very* volatile, that can change quickly. One of these days I think I'll finally tell everyone what's going on, but I may still need some time before I'm ready to do that. Maybe I'll wait for some good developments first, but there's absolutely no guarantee if I'll even do it in the first place. Anyways, thanks to all those who support me too! Every little bit of support in any form really helps, and it's thanks to you all that I keep going with the stuff I do! 😄
