@samueljohnson @ChrisMayLA6 It is not good. In spain, I've experienced the same situation. Someone refuses (or cannot) pay, and the rest of the community gets stuck with the build and there is nothing that can be done unless you want to engage in a long, multi-year legal process.

It seems that the only place I know where this does not happen on a regular basis is two communities I'm involved in in Stockholm. Everyone knows everyone, and I think only physical owners are allowed in the

@samueljohnson @ChrisMayLA6 This sounds very plausible. I think some is loot and some is legit. Difficult to separate out which is which. But I'm convinced that in one form or another, we'll have a little bit of Venezuela money, russian money, iranian money, and all of the other gulf states in one way or another, represented there.

@ChrisMayLA6 I spoke with my neighbour in spain who runs real estate investments in the UK in the 100-1000 million GBP range, and his opinion is that around London, there will never be a sharp drop. Too little space and too many people.

@ChrisMayLA6 Is it possible to live somewhere in the UK without being monitored 24/7 by CCTV cameras?

It seems to me that the mismanagement of the country might have dropped house prices outside the main areas, and the fact that it is so close to mainland europe makes it quite an attractice place to live, especially if the taxes can be kept low and surveillance to a minimum.

In all my naivete, I imagine parts of the UK as the opening scene in lord of the rings.

@ChrisMayLA6 @codewizard That's why it is important that the world, as a whole, let the bombs, embargos and financial restrictions and boycotts rain as soon as the iranians even think of using it.

I could imagine that the world might construct a missile shield in Oman as well.

If not, from time to time, as you say, the iranians will close. Should they ever produce nukes, the game is up, and all iranians will be more or less enslaved under a hereditary ruler forever.

@me @jolla If they are true believers in open source, and if they do earn money on the hardware ,they should definitely want this.

If their idea is to lock people into services fees and generally block other OS:s from running on their phones, they should definitely not accomodate anyone else.

It's just a question of if they want to be open or closed, support digital sovereignty, or digital slavery.

@ChrisMayLA6 You're dodging a bullet there. Most, if not all, government investments in so called "green" technology have been a huge fiasco.

Only recently did swedens government burn through 600 million GBP in Northvolt, and another couple of 100 in Stegra.

But rest assured that the CEO:s and leadership got at least a few 100s of thousands of GBP, so at least they won't starve like the retired people who's funds the government is throwing away.

@me @jolla They should make it smaller, 3.5 inch, lighter, smaller resolution screen and more privacy oriented.

Adding to that, being able to run ubuntu touch on it would be good as well.

@ChrisMayLA6 Well, when it comes to the norm of civility, I think you yourself, is the reason. I'm no stranger to trolling, but you just have this peaceful aura, and what you write is interesting, which just makes it difficult to troll you. Sometimes I lightly try, but it never sticks. ;)
