So, I just had a moment.

Watching CinemaSins on the Alien franchise, and currently on Aliens.

During Ripley's loading up to assault the hive, she sticks the magazine into the pulse rifle and the display shows 95. Wait, no. Doesn't the M41A Pulse Rifle has a has a maximum clip size of 99 bullets?

Like, that is a hill I die on. Whenever I talk Alien games, does the Pulse Rifle have 99 bullets, on a fresh reload? This is an important metric to whether I think the game is good or not.

Have I been wrong this entire time?!

I did check Xenopedia, and the M41A which was utilised in the movie, according to them, has a maximum clip size of 99.
Other models that are detailed significantly reduce that, like the MK2 from Colonial Marines having only 40 (seriously?), but that apparently has more stopping power. Even though in game, Hudson's non-MK2 Pulse Rifle is a far superior weapon to the MK2. Which coincidentally has a clip size of 95 rounds...

I totally forgot how short Shores of Hell was in SNES DOOM.

6 levels, if you include the secret level, this is compared to Knee Deep and Inferno's 8 levels a piece (with secret levels).

Going straight from Deimos Anomaly to Refinery (Typically E2M1 to E2M3) is pretty cruel, especially as on Ultra Violence, you'll leave Deimos Anomaly with little to no resources. Graciously, in the SNES version, by the secret exit to Fortress of Mystery there are 3 big boxes of energy cell ammo, 300 cells, making Fortress of Mystery possible to clear.

SNES DOOM is missing the following levels

E1M6 - Central Processing
E2M2 - Containment Area
E2M4 - Command Center
E2M8 - Spawning Vats
E3M5 - Unholy Cathedral

This does mean when I record Inferno, I will need to play Slough of Despair... Really looking forward to that one... :blobcatghostdead:

I haven't done this in a while and lost track of what week I am on.

1) The wife and I have adopted a little black cat named Luna. She is precious and smol. She has managed to settle in really well and is a chatty little madame.

2) I've been able to publish some blog posts uploaded, complete with a bunch of my own screenshots, instead of just stealing them from Google. I have a couple more to neaten up and the one for Team Innocent to finish, and then I should be up to date (ignoring about 100 games I could write about).

3) Since Luna has arrived, there have been a few chores i have been able to keep on top of, instead of letting it build up. It feels good to be on top of the Kitchen based cleaning.

I've been sitting on this one for a while. Probably as long as I was sitting on Alien Trilogy.

Being a game that, I assume, was made to just push the Coca-Cola brand, I was surprised at not only how competent this game was but also how enjoyable it was.

Sure. It does feel, and play like, a Sonic clone. At least they did it well!

So, I can finally give some proper words on Team Innocent: The Point of New Return for the #PCFX

I thoroughly enjoyed myself with this game. I had a few concerns about, perhaps, not being able to navigate or find things, but despite that I didn't struggle with finding key items or getting lost in the maps.

Ultimately, it delivered a really enjoyable experience for me. I don't recall their being any moon logic puzzles, though plenty of superfluous items, especially in Mission 1.

Where the game sadly falls apart is the combat. Melee combat works fine, I didn't struggle to find my mark. Ranged weapons, however, play no animations when fired, and no projectiles are on screen. The only way I knew I was damaging things was when they flashed or staggered back.

Graciously, combat is not a major focus and not taxing, just a little underwhelming. So, it being under utilised is probably a good thing.

I'll be working on the full blog post today and tomorrow.

It's weird, I swear the screenshots taken on my Steam Deck have come out darker than they are on screen.

Noticed this with the Alien Trilogy ones in particular.
The game is dark. But not that dark! :blobcatsweats:

So, my Wife ( @EmmalenaLEllis@cupoftea.social ) got me this for Christmas and I spent a good couple of hours this evening putting it together.

Absolutely amazing build, the buttons are ridiculously tactile and the power switch at the top feels like the OG.

She also got me the two little cuddly crows in the picture too. They are almost big enough to look like they're playing this one!
