"Meta spent a record $26.3 million on federal lobbying in 2025, deployed 86+ lobbyists across 45 states, and covertly funded a "grassroots" child safety group called the Digital Childhood Alliance (DCA) to advocate for the App Store Accountability Act (ASAA). The ASAA requires app stores to verify user ages before downloads but imposes no requirements on social media platforms. If it becomes law, Apple and Google absorb the compliance cost while Meta's apps face zero new mandates."

@Judeau@mas.to I like WindowsCE as well. I wish it was easier to install software on many of the devices, but that's part of what makes them useful for me. Instant on, get right to Word and start working. My favorite #WindowsCE device is the Vadem Clio. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vadem_Clio) I have two of these. I used to have a very nice third one, but they're very picky about power and I fried it using a voltage adapter.

@Judeau@mas.to I had one of these running android, and was able to install Linux on it but the track pad was almost unusable, especially with the buttons on either side. Hope you have fun with it! I remember it being surprisingly light.

At OregonCAPE.org public forum. According to an anonymous, social media survey, kids are leaving #SpringfieldOR because of class sizes, lack of emotional support, lack of challenge, and opportunity to attend another district. However, Springfield's A3 High School has 50% enrollment from other districts. Other factors in declining enrollment: External: Economic, Societal, Political, Big Picture --falling birth rates, access to housing, aging population, lack of jobs, cost of living, family stressors Internal: Policies, Procedures, Practices, Decisions, goals, top-down management, standardized testing, unengaging curriculum 2026 is perfect storm of external and internal factors building for 20 years of No Child Left Behind for all schools. According to Oregon Department of Education, all school enrollment was rising until COVID, then saw decline overall, but Springfield is dropping ahead of curve. Bend and LaPine are examples of growing populations of retirees with no increase in student enrollment.
