Disaster Recovery Plan terminology

My infosec update for this weekend is that I've had a fucking annoying time with a local agency.

I contacted them over a year ago to try and work with them. They've e-mailed and scheduled calls with me a few times to discuss potential projects. We had e-mails and a call this week. Every single time it always goes like:

They send brief.
I send how I would tackle.
I send how much I would cost.
They use some excuse to use somebody else.

It feels properly scummy. Like I'm being used in a mystery-shopping exercise.

I will not be engaging with them again.

All I want to do is pick up another contract like my current contract so that I can hire a junior consultant and build a business.

One contract at a time forever seems to be where I'm stuck.

It fucking sucks that the only grandparent in our lives is a narcissistic pain in the arse.

I'm also pissed at my parents for dying so early in my life.

I bought a few of these yesterday - vanilla matcha latte cans.

Vanilla and matcha is so much better than strawberry and matcha IMO.

Bought some tasty pastries/confectionary in the mall (shopping centre) today - big cannolis, baklava, and a big bag of nuts (I think walnuts), honey + sesame and honey + caramel flavours.

Lovely stuff and most of it is already gone 😅

Since this remote pentest is being such a pain, can I just ask the client to let me go on-site and finish the rest?
VPN restrictions, things like no ARP support are killing me.

Having a hellish time on this remote pentest so far. VLAN segmentation, good patching, complex passwords. Nothing working for me yet.

Will try harder but my enthusiasm is waning today.

I read somewhere this morning that the next MacBooks are going to be announced in the upcoming event, and they'll have OLED touch screens.

I'm not too fussed about it. I don't touch my PC screens, even when I used a Surface Pro for ages.

The MacBook screen is already great, and mine is docked 99% of the time. I only need it in laptop mode when I'm travelling or working on-site.

So I won't be upgrading any time soon.

Wee haircut today. Still going with the slicked-back look and a fade on the sides.

Downloaded Gantz Volume 1 to Apple Books. I'd like to get into reading more manga and seen that this is supposedly pretty great.

@0x00string@infosec.exchange I miss my old kitchen in our 2 bed place, it was huge and I would cook loads in there.

My wife cooks some of the stuff I showed her, like my marinara. I just hate cooking in our current kitchen.
