Is everyone having wicked swings in the weather?!? I hope most of you in the world are holding steady. In the U.S. unpredictability is the pattern right now.
We just had heat records that spawned terrible storms in the Great Lakes region, and in parts of the South. This past week brought giant hail and tornadoes, followed immediately by both wind and cold advisories. Temperatures after the storms dropped by 50 degrees, going from way too warm, to well below freezing.
Not even a week later, we have been sent back around on the same ride again. No opportunity to get off the scary roller coaster. It got really warm this weekend which will energize severe storms today (overnight for my area), followed again by the same high winds and yet another precipitous drop to below freezing temperatures. Then gradually back up to 82° F again by the weekend. Do I even want to know what happens after that?
We've had false (extra warm) Spring before. But not followed by a return to Winter, and back again, twice in the same week, like some kind of weather whiplash. Oh, and both times, I have early appointments right at the tail end of the severe weather moving through my area.
The Northern tier is getting hit by freeezing rain and a significant blizzard, followed by a Spring storm in some areas, right on top of it, for places in the Northeast as far as Syracuse, New York.
I'm seeing bigger areas of Torcon values that are of concern. Today: Tennessee Kentucky, and Alabama are in the bullseye. Overnight and tomorrow: the Carolinas, Virginia, and Washington D.C. are the target.
Heads up, U.S.ians, especially in the Central and Eastern parts of the country.
