A message from MediaFaro.

Yesterday we signed the No AI Statement at https://no-ai-icon.com to declare that MediaFaro does not use AI to find, analyse, or produce any of the content we publish on any of our channels, @mf_newsdigest@mastodon.mediafaro.org, @mf_analysis@mastodon.mediafaro.org, @mf_longreads@mastodon.mediafaro.org, and @mf_magazine@mastodon.mediafaro.org.

We also do not link to articles that are noticeably produced by AI.

Credibility, reliability and quality are important to us. AI tools often hinder achieving those goals.

Thank you for raising an interesting point. Happy to discuss as we are still developing this and like to get different perspectives on it.

Firstly, I assume when you say website you mean our Mastodon profile because our actual website is very lean and doesn’t feature any of these articles. We don’t carry ads so we have no incentive to drive traffic to the website, or keep people on the site.

The things we share are split across different feeds based on the type of content.

Introducing MediaFaro, a new home for The European Network's news digests.

After having been under the wings of The European Network since 2022 we can announce that the European news digest operation is spinning out as a separate service. It continues as a not-for-profit initiative called MediaFaro.

Faro being the Portuguese, Spanish and Italian word for lighthouse, MediaFaro shines a light on quality #news, #analysis, and #longreads from reputable European sources.
