I vibe-coded a tool to explore embedding models - it's just a page that calls out to llama-server and renders the computed values as pixels.

I tried the embeddinggemma model and noticed there are some "hot elements" (like "hot pixels" on a camera sensor), always stuck to some out-of-distribution value. Why? Is it some model marker? No one looked at it prior to release? Does it fulfill a function? How does it affect comparisons?

It's like if a hash function always had some bits set to 0 or 1...

Trying to use an older, un-updated Android tablet (2GB RAM) on the modern web is really testing my patience ("can you look at this" from relatives).

I managed to install Firefox 143 from APK, which is the last version supported on this device, so at least I won't see all the "unsafe website (untrusted certificate)" and I managed to install NoScript and Ublock Origin...

Upgrading my #RaspberryPi5 from Bookworm to Trixie.

Mid upgrade the terminal window suddenly disappears as it's upgraded and I'm left with a pending upgrade process waiting for some input 🤦

kill -9 and retry "apt upgrade" seems to work for now...
