You might remember from my IGF list I was talking about the wildly experimental language game Kevin's Playing in Berlin. Well, it's out now! You owe yourself to look at this. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3982990/kevins_PLAYING_in_berlin/

The other day I needed to write to a floppy but the only drive I had on hand was hooked up to my Greaseweazle raw flux controller. Except the "write enabled" jumper is off, and I didn't have a jumper on hand. My wife ended up bridging it with a screwdriver for the whole write process, lol

Incidentally I do think that Windows 12 situation is interesting as an example of how this stuff gets laundered into social media bait. It was a multi-step process!
The original article in German on PC Welt wouldn't have trended since it was in German. Then it got roughly translated into English for PC World, and *that* version gave it the veneer of respectability despite being conjecture with absolutely no sourcing.

OK, this is a longshot, but: have you ever run the 90s version of the FirstClass BBS server *or* did you use it back in the day? I'm trying to figure out if something is a standard feature and could use feedback from someone who might know.
Edit: Got my answer. Thanks everyone!

This is an extreme longshot, but if there's anyone out there who owns this physical CD (or any other CD in this series), please reach out. I need your help with something. https://www.discogs.com/release/36547942-Various-XD-Submit-Vol-2

I saw blue links on wikipedia looking partially faded, and I was wracking my brain trying to figure out what the heck was going on, until I remembered I had @everest@merveilles.town’s ”Desire Paths for Wikipedia" installed

It really is a little absurd that “I’m considering switching to Linux on my laptop for better availability of games” is a real thought in my head. Valve have made strange things happen

Jesus. I guess this is the *real* danger of Grokipedia, rather than the idea that *people* might choose to trust it. https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/jan/24/latest-chatgpt-model-uses-elon-musks-grokipedia-as-source-tests-reveal

New blog post! I wrote about one of the weirdest CDs in my collection - a CD single with a few lo-fi music videos and the distinct vibes that this is the leftover wreckage of what was supposed to be a much bigger project that never came to pass.

The most important thing here is **don’t panic**. They’re not going to just disappear. This isn't good but it's not catastrophic.
