There's no app, no service, no platform on earth worth all that. And if the answer is simply "more money," (of course it is), someone should learn how to balance a budget because the math ain't mathing.

Ah, yes. This is the exact kind of tool that will make worming OpenClaw much, much easier. And communication via WeChat, no less. Expect more of this. I fully believe there will be a pivot to installing tools like OpenClaw instead of other stealers/miners. Imagine a botnet at your disposal that could execute arbitrary operations via plain-language instructions.

In the whole Proton situation, there are a lot of mixed equities and real problems surfacing, but not all of them are appropriately ascribed to Proton.
Let's put aside for the moment that the FBI sucks. They do! Under the US MLAT with Switzerland, is it Proton's role to deny the request from the US government?
Is it not; it is the Swiss government's role to do so if they wish. If they do so, they endanger a treaty that has been in place since 1977, while also signaling to other countries with similar agreements that their word is mud—or at best, contingent on them liking the current government of the ally country.
Maybe not an awesome tradeoff to stick it to the Feebs.
And Proton, like them or not, has been clear about their position on honoring Swiss law from the jump. And should they leave Switzerland for another EU country, it will be that state's laws they abide by.
You may contend that Proton should deny lawful (note: not necessarily ethical) requests from their government to protect their users. That's a position you can take, but I don't believe it has ever been Proton's. Their primary privacy offer is end-to-end encryption between email addresses that support it, and on-disk encryption of your data, along with a VPN. They make anonymous accounts possible, but do not guarantee any data you give them will be withheld from lawful requests from Swiss authorities, which is what happened here.

Such a machine...is not feasible to build any time soon.

Wild. According to this analysis, economic impact of AI investment on GDP has been negligible, because anything in the positive side of the ledger (development, construction, etc.) is offset by imports from Korea and Taiwan.
This is contrary to some other reporting that suggested that datacenter-related activity was significantly impactful, up to 38% of GDP growth in 2025. Either way you slice it though, not a lot of positives.

An important note I think is that this capability requires kernel-level access to hook Springboard (iOS's UI controller) and hide those indicators. In other words, something your Facebook app cannot do.

Discord claims "most users" will never go through an age verification process because they're already monitoring your behavior.
For the majority of adult users, we will be able to confirm your age group using information we already have. We use age prediction to determine, with high confidence, when a user is an adult. This allows many adults to access age-appropriate features without completing an explicit age check.
Gotta say, constant behavior analysis is not the warm and fuzzy blanket they seem to think it is.

This study—from Anthropic, no less—is rather damning of the entire generative AI project. In code creation, the realm where it should shine, not only were the time gains marginal, but developers understood their code far, far less. And they didn't even have more fun doing the work!
But to me the most concerning part of this study is the fact that Anthropic could not get the control (non-AI) group to comply. Up to 35% of the "control" in the initial studies used AI tools despite instructions not to. What kind of behavior does that sound like?

Notepad++ versions and update mechanisms had been compromised since September until December 2025. Please update to 8.9.1 wherever you have this tool. It's unclear what malicious versions of the tool might do. I Recommend activating incident response for affected hosts.
