@h3mmy as a kid I had a weird obsession with the idea of a long lost twin , & nowadays I still read mostly spec fic so I assume both of us would take to curiosity about each other and welcoming?

- is the mud to remove a sense of complete confirmation in the ID— like removing tattooes and scars and hair color etc ? If so, I’m guessing other-me would be wearing contacts not highly unique glasses, and then we come to an issue. I’m not positive I would recognize myself. I’m face blind even when people are not covered in mud. I would recognize similarities in our body shape, and if they were limping the same I would probably GUESS it could be another-me, but

Did fast math and I’ve spent *at least* $1000 BORROWING adobe’s software, vs like idr but maybe $70 on aperture while it still existed (RIP) .

I’m finally quitting adobe, they raised my subscription so much it’s absurd.
I want to migrate 2-3 Lr catalogs to dark table or similar. For anyone who’s done it, do I need to have Lr to export things in certain formats, or is it ok to go ahead & cancel subscription asap, then wait & worry about getting #darktable set up in a month or two when I have more energy?
Normally I wouldn’t gamble but I’ve could stand to save the money & I’m too stressed about upcoming talk to deal w a migration rn

@broadwaybabyto I agree with your assessment about unmasked being lower risk than lease unless you can check what breaking lease entails and know you’re able to handle that — you might or might not. Given how hard moving is I would assume not, but feels worth mentioning sometimes the punishments aren’t as bad as we think they are.
Newer places and recently remodeled places will be worse for VOCs. Good ventilation will be very good IF your AQI / temp outside is safe.

@broadwaybabyto I might have more thoughts after sleep cause brain fog bad but — I remember you said in a post I think you have an air quality meter? If so bring that! Yes consumer VOC zones aren’t great, but you can look at it as a basis of comparison to your current place. If you don’t have one, I recommend getting one asap because the one I got took a week to calibrate for VOCs and some stuff.

Which city near water with tall buildings would you send social justice Godzilla?
Houston is looking best rn so far thanks to a fantastic info dump from @ldotxtx after I ruled out:
Tallahassee for not having big enough buildings, same issue as DC.
Orlando far from ocean, idk if 40-60 miles is in kaiju’s warm up (sorry excoworkers)
Kansas is pretty out of the question even if v deserved these days #transrights

If I am drawing a Gojira art & can watch one media for creative reference: which do you recommend & why?
I’m more interested in cool &/or silly monster and nuclear/social critique than excellent graphics or acting. I like immersive world building, but getting a good grasp on depicting zilla is most important here.
Also open to other tips/links/refs for how to do a good jira / what to avoid. TIA! 🗼
