@9to5Mac@mastodon.online When AppleTV unscrambled their feed during Thanksgiving a while ago, I added it to my Roku and wandered around what they had to offer. After 10 minutes, I deleted the feed. I was not impressed.
I can see why people would join after most of the season of FOUNDATION, MURDERBOT, BAD MONKEY, or LESSONS IN CHEMISTRY. Binge, then cancel. But most of their other stuff isn't worth the price of the subscription.

@cstross@wandering.shop I wanted to see a movie in the theater with a neighbor. Only I found out we like to sit in different locations in the theater (she towards the back in the middle, me last row of the closest seats in the middle). So, I won't watch a movie with her and will go alone to see A PAST LIFE and HAMNET.

@9to5Mac@mastodon.online I tried buying 3 pairs of pants on Walmart's web site. I got 1 pair and they were _really_ cheaply made. Definitely not worth the $20 I paid for them. The site just cancelled the 2 other pair and didn't send any sort of message acknowledging that. I'll never buy anything from Walmart's site again.
And the local brick and mortar store just converted into a "superstore" with really cramped aisles. Two carts can't pass each other. And forget about shopping on the weekend. It's too crowded. It took me 30 minutes to find the Crystal Lite section and what was on the shelf didn't match what the web site said they had in store.
The only thing I'll do now is shop on-line and pick it up at the curb. That's still manageable.

Essentially, their argument was that this would be a huge pain and expense to fix, and so we are all better off just keeping it on the down low. And that kind of worked, for about a hundred years, unt

@mattblaze@federate.social @quinn@social.circl.lu There are quite a number of HOA Karen stories on Redit about an HOA requiring having a key "for emergencies" and the mis-use of said key to conduct "home inspections".
I've shared a copy of my key with various neighbors and vice-versa. But that's not the same thing at all.
