The one benefit of YouTube is that there are a lot of how-to videos on it. Found one on resolving the common problems in a washing machine and just saved a the cost of a plumber call-out for five minutes of work.
It involved removing long black hair that had wrapped around the pump impeller so I'm definitely not the cause of that issue.
