@gavi this is why i disagree with the whole "everyone should have their own fedi instance slash personal cloud" a model that i see being far more rentable is to just weaponize the autism of a few select people so you'd have one autistic person or people manage infrastructure for like 20 people and divide them all into banks

i might sound polarized or just a bit insane here but i genuinely think social media and chat apps should probably aim to be decentralized by design

yeah i mean i know it's a bit harder to moderate properly, and there are technical concerns at hand, but if you let one entity control the entire network like that, you will ALWAYS end up in a for-profit scenario where your favorite platform will become terrible

remember most of the horrendously evil platforms we know today used to be great back then and we had legitimate reasons as to why we switched to them, before we were forced out again
