To all those who think that planet Earth is a sphere; it is a torus for the foreseeable future.

Part of the reason is that the software is not quite done, and changing something is now highly difficult. But good enough is good enough. And everyone that sees it find it awesome so I will leave it at that. I now hope that the lamp will remain up there. Structural strength analysis is not something I did 😅

A lot of overengineering: each section is independently driven by a mosfet, the mosfets are set on a custom PCB, the PWM is generated using a PWM module, and the whole is controlled by an esp32c3. The esp32 has espnow enabled and can be commanded to adjust the brightness. Overengineered because I will probable never use the variable light mode this enables..

I finally finished this big project I have been working on and off for a couple of years. It is a 2 meter wide chandelier designed for the inclined ceiling of my living room.

It has 84 individual leds, each in a brass tube hanging from aluminum profiles. The center is made with #3dprinting , using some PETG-GF.

Happy how it looks, and relieved it is done 😅

Little critters are waking up from their winter slumber, and the garden is full of them. Such as this big oil beetle.

Not doing much 3D printing contests lately, but I couldn't say no to the HP Otto robot contest on Printables.

So I made a Mr Potato remix of the robot. The accessories only need SVG drawings (using inkspace for example) and Prusaslicer. This is much more beginner friendly than CAD for drawing.

Explanations are to be found on the model's page :

@JoBlakely Some tribes that did not have contact with our industrialized society yet were scared of the camera because they thought it would steal their soul. Turns out, they were right.
