Does this kind of thicker stringing look like due to wet filament? Or something else? I know the very fine, cotton candy like fluffy stringing is due to wet filament, but I'm not sure if this ticker one is also. #3dprinting #3dprinter

I brought my 3D printed guitar to the office and had a colleague tune it, and then we tried it with a proper sound system. It actually sounds great now. #guitar #3DPrinting #Prusacaster #prusa #music

Waiting on parts. 2 printers, 1 day, and a fair bit of filament. This will eventually be a card shuffler - large capacity - perfect for Wyrmspan, Wingspan, any game with a huge deck. Canasta? Just waiting on a shipment of o-rings and screws :) Printed on my #Prusa MK4s and a Bambu A1 Mini AMS. Here's the source: https://makerworld.com/en/models/497170-card-shuffler?from=search#profileId-2057655 #3dprinting #boardgames #CardGames

When working with a fringe hobby such as mine and using a 3D printer, I often get comments like "Isn't that part like $19? Why bother fiddling with a 3D printer". While technically true, I'm not really after the money saving angle here. A pinball machine has a LOT of parts and owning over 30 of them means pretty insane parts stock. What usually breaks or wears out is very well known and a lot of it is compatible with a wide range of machines, such as coil sleeves and rubbers. Those I buy. But then there are unique parts, that were used only in a specific machine. Often those parts can be found with a web search, but they're not in stock anywhere or they'll take up to a month to arrive in this corner of the world. There's also cases where a tiny plastic part can fail, but you can only buy the whole assembly for $200. Being able to just print one means the game is back in the action often in hours and at least in my designs I don't just clone the parts, I also try to see why they break and make them sturdier and easier to install. I also hope more people would be inspired to share theirs, so there'd be a printable parts library out there when needed. #3dprinting #cad #restoration

Last night I designed all the subframes for the middle platform and today, before the migraine hit, I finished printing them. I’m using a coach to check clearances. Bought from Alexandra Palace about three years ago I assumed it was a Hornby restaurant car because it was in a Hornby box. Turns out it’s a Bachmann, and the only thing wrong with it is a couple of floating passengers inside. Win! #ModelRailway #platforms #3DPrinting #Progress

getting it figured out the extruder didn’t want to do a high resolution without me signing up so i settled for low rez but it seems pretty functional anyway ^_^ #3dPrinting #repair #diy

I have a dual extrusion 3D printer. I could try to be productive, learn new things, and set myself technical challenges... But since I'm a kid in an adult's body, I'm going to print cool masks for my two cats. My neighbors are going to flip out. #3dprinting

Oh boy. The wife saw my new filament delivery come in. She quietly took the cash I had sitting in my wallet and went out to buy a new jacket. That went WAAYYYY better than I expected. #3DPrinting

v0.132.0 marks the final release covered from our 2024 funding round from @NGIZero@mastodon.xyz. That round brought loads of features: * JSON API * Proper Federation over ActivityPub * A metadata standard for 3d models * Importing data from other hosting sites * UX and security improvements * Admin tools for public instances And of course we launched our flagship instance, https://3dprint.social It was a busy year! #3DPrinting #SelfHosted
