Hey, #chainmail friends: Got a reliable source for high-quality scale #maille?
I've been prototyping with scales from Fire Mountain Gems, but 30-60% are unusable for jewelry – due to scratches/scuffs and the occasional discoloration. :/
Preferably:
- 35.8mm x 22.2mm size option
- USA
- Multicolored aluminum (OR extra points for reasonably-priced titanium/niobium anodized scales!)

For those of you following along from home
A couple of months ago, using stuff I had around the house (If you have a system it isn't hoarding) I made a few Laura Kampf inspired Tape Mates. Until you've actually used one, I get it, it seems like a silly thing. Once you've used one however....

Well, my sweetie (She who runs the sewing machine for me too ) surprised me with a few buckle clips today! So, over the next day or two I'll be revisiting my design, probably starting from scratch, and remaking my own Tape Mates.

Oakee doakee... Got the prints back. Sphere retention is a bit too tight with these dimensions. It takes significant force to engage sphere. Will adjust octagon dimensions for greater accommodation. (

Finally pulled together a prototype with this little board – one of my new #Charmware set, reviving the series of modular tech #jewelry bits I started back in 2018. Been dreaming of assembling these with elytra and bike-leather, and the day finally came... The board still needs some tweaks (smaller switch etc.), but with my fixed-up #KiCad workflow, those will be a snap. 😸

Wrapped up my latest custom #keyboard today. It’s a single handed keeb designed exclusively for playing #ArcRaiders . Designed in TinkerCad and #3dprinted on my #Prusa mk4. Then hand painted with Panduro Hobby Acrylics and dusted with weathering powders. Running #kmk on a #seeed Xiao #rp2040.
