Hey, #DIY folks, have a question for you about a #door down to a basement. This door is insulated and framed as if it were an outside door, as previously the basement wasn't conditioned. Now it is. The sill framing is a real trip risk now, as we go up and down those stairs a lot more than previously, and you have to step over it, and down to the first stair. Usually when carrying something. I'm wondering what can be done about this? Reframe the whole opening, and install a different door, and somehow fix the sill/wood floor? Use a sawzall and just cut it out and see what happens? Something else? Ideas appreciated.

Czy oprócz bezpiecznika (20 A?) powinienem też wsttawić jedną albo dwie diody zabezpieczające przed "cofką"? I jak je dobrać?

My daily driver for nearly 10 years, this MacBook Pro from 2015 has a swollen battery. This repair was much easier. Only four components to remove before getting to the battery, which went straight to the hazardous waste drop-off. Again, thanks to @iFixit@mastodon.social for parts and an excellent guide. Who knows, maybe I’ll get another ten years out of it. #ifixit #diy #righttorepair #macbookpro

#selfhosting #NAS #diy does anyone know a website that has a good filter for searching PC/NAS cases? the filter params should allow filtering for harddrive sizes and also understand combining them. example: sometimes there is enough space for, lets say, 2x 2.5 and 2x 3.5 but when combining them the 3.5 would take space of one of the 2.5 😅 I need 2x 2.5 and min 2x 3.5 At the same time I want the physical size of the case not to exceed 230mm 🤓

Getting back to hobbies for relaxing: 1. Picked up the guitar after a couple of decades, 6-strong and 12-string. Fingers are killing me. On the bright side, discovered TuxGuitar. Wow, if I had this when I was 15 I would have learned so much faster! 2. My controller has arrived, and now watching the pricing on LiftOff on Steam, hoping to buy in a dip. 3. Homelab finally starting to come together. Maybe went a bit overboard though on the 12 disc array. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #diy #selfcare #hobbies
