Had a question from @Crowjane@mastodon.sdf.org about a good basic shortwave receiver. Anyone have experience with the cheaper battery operated units?
(My preference is the Kenwood R-1000 or using my ham radio receivers, of course... and not too impressed with the old Radio Shack and similar shortwave radios, in terms of capability -- very primitive vs. even an SDR).
That said, I'm sure there are some modern, digital DSP shortwave receivers with AM/FM/USB/LSB support? Ideally, small battery operated units with built in antenna.
