I'm a gamer? Oh god.

A quick reminder that this weekend has the last fresh Eggstra Work shift before Mr. Grizz switches to reruns for subsequent events, so plan accordingly. Or alternatively, don't.
Thinking of switching my boardgame group's voice chat from #Discord to #Mumble. On voice chat features it is on par with Discord, but the UI is not as streamlined. I feel it is pretty much down to what you're accustomed to and the level of crap you're willing to tolerate.
At least Mumble is less bloated.
Some interesting QoL improvements coming in the upcoming Splatoon 3 update this thursday.
New Tomodachi Life Direct coming this thursday at 15:00 CET!
The series is a fun little social simulator, interested to see what they've come up with this time around. And since it's already scheduled for spring...
Since I'm starting to lean into this whole journaling thing this year, I also decided to make a game journal to record my thoughts and progresses.
Dunno if it'll amount to something, but at least I'm putting that Splatoon 3 notebook I bought off from Nintendo to good use.
When Nintendo drops my year end wrapped stats, expect some commentary, since that's where the beef is.
Watching the local news and hearing journos describe The Game Awards as "the oscars of the gaming world". All the while DICE Awards have been doing it longer. Well, can't expect people to be knowledgeable.
Either way, the Oscars haven't been that relevant for me, and I don't see the point in aping them except for trying to fish some sort of public acceptability. Nothing wrong with that, but they seem to favour cinematic experiences, which aren't my jam.
Picking up Tears of the Kingdom again and according to my save I haven't played this since the end of July.
I'm not very goot at cutting down my backlog. Maybe I should start a backlog spreadsheet or something.
So far I've been breaking some sweat 3 times a week in Ring Fit Adventure continuously since October, but now I'm taking a short break since my right arm is kinda sore and weak from all that. Other than that, I'm pleased with the overall results.
Well now, Board Game Arena servers went down completely, so friday night boardgaming had to be canceled. Don't remember things being this bad.
The upcoming Steam Machine certainly scratches that itch for a small gaming PC experience. Probably isn't gonna hit 60 fps at 4K, but at least it's better than a gaming laptop. Now if the price is right...
Finished Doom 3 on the Switch. Great sound design, mediocre combat. Never actually got to use the BFG because I waited and waited for the big boss and eventually didn't even get to use it then because it did jack squat for that boss. Also despite playing in medium difficulty I always had a stock of ammo and health – I remember hard mode being more challenging in those aspects.
As a final point: of all the Switch versions of Dooms, why isn't gyro aiming in this?
