Trying to scan things on #OpenBSD from my AirPrint enabled Brother printer:
1) Install sane and all other things related to sane-airscan
2) run airscan-discover which fails with,

MDNS: avahi_client_new failed: Daemon not running

therefore
3) Try to start up avahi-daemon, which fails with:

I guess 4) would be to get dbus to work but I reckon it IS working?! Where do I go from here?

Never recylce passwords, usernames, or email addresses.

Use catch-all or other disposable emails, use a password manager to help you random-generate usernames and passwords.

There will still remain ways to identify you across data breaches (depending on what they steal) like phone numbers or card numbers, but at least you are minimising the ways people can get you.

But when lists like this become available you can at least check in your password manager which unique email address and username you used there, so you can know to immediately nope out of any scams / phishing attempts that buyers of such lists will try.

Tracked down the #NetBSD 11 WiFi problems I was having on i386! IT WAS EERO'S FAULT.

Eero has some wonky behaviour when it runs in WPA3/WPA2 mixed mode, sometimes it seems to return NULL packets during auth.

NetBSD11 has wpa_supplicant upgraded to 2.11, which blocks this kind of behaviour.

The fix turned out to be really simple: force wpa_supplicant to only use WPA2 and also specify "ieee80211w=0" in the network config.

I've got a working install; AND #Lagrange also built perfectly this time. I am really quite happy.

I will be even happier when I finally replace these stupid AP's, I have grown to detest them.
