@gedeonm@mastodon.social @marc_eu@veganism.social FYI, according to Google search…. The 1x1 LEGO plate (specifically part #3024) is a standard, highly common building element, and the underlying design is not protected by current copyright or, in most jurisdictions, active patent law.
And there are many brands using and selling this brick. Mega Bloks in US, Qman and Royal Toys in Hong Kong for example.
Personally I have way too many Lego sets. But I also get sets not available in US and LEGO never made.
