Beyond “whomever holds the highest office at the moment,” there’s “whomever gets the biggest media coverage.” That might be Gavin Newsom, who’s not very popular, even in his home state. Bernie Sanders and AOC always get good coverage, but that’s partly because they’re so far outside the mainstream.
US isn’t really set up for singular leaders at the national level, which is part of what makes Trump so unusual.

That may not be PWM. My (cheap) induction cooker seems to do actual high frequency PWM at medium-to-high settings, where the heat is essentially always on, but varies total power. It seems to cycle at lower power settings, with multiple-seconds of on and off. “3” is always on; “2” is 5 seconds heat + 10 seconds off. No clue why it would switch modes like that. I’d assume it’s a manufacturing cost, but it means they had to implement both PWM and slow cycles.

Resistance electric burners really are shit. If you’ve never cooked on one, it’s hard to express just how much a game changer induction is. Not to mention people’s legacy of copper, stainless, and aluminium cookware.

Georgia still has among the lowest per-kWh tariffs in the country, at $0.086/kWh (0.0806 in winter). Plus $14/month service charge and 20% taxes & fees. Compare California at $0.40/kWh.

SATA is really convenient for larger storage, though. I keep my OS on nvmes, but I’ve got a couple of SATA drive and a hot swap bay for games, media, etc.

This is one of those questions where it’s very easy to project one’s vision of their own mortality onto the mirror of their pet. Like, for me, personally, I dread becoming so enfeebled that the tasks of daily life slip beyond my strength, to say nothing of mental incapacity, and I very much do not want to live that way. I know people who would rather lie in bed, maintained by machines, ass wiped by a stranger, for years than give up. We can’t ever know what the internal life of our pets is like, can’t know if they’re aware of their own mortality in the way that we are, but we will be responsible for their geriatric care and end-of-life decisions. ‘What I would want for myself,’ is the best place to start.
