Scammers are creating accounts on this server and others pretending to be administrators, trying to trick people into clicking malware or phishing links. These messages are often under the pretense of "verifying your account". They are all bogus, and dangerous.

If you receive or even see a message like this, whether it's coming from Masto.NYC or any other server, please report it immediately. The only Masto.NYC admin or news accounts are @jmac@masto.nyc, @seano@masto.nyc, and @warren@masto.nyc. (That's me!)

Good morning! Our parent nonprofit, Five Borough Fedi Project (5BFP), has just published its first annual transparency report: https://5bfp.org/annual_reports/2024/

This report summarizes the organization's activity during 2024, including its income and expenditures. It concludes with some plans and expectations about the year ahead for 5BFP and Masto.NYC.

Summary of summary: 5BFP was founded! Masto.NYC migrated to the cloud! And we're OK on cash for the immediate future, but there's longer-term work to do.
