Given it has taken about two weeks to get a ship ready (HMS Dragon) ready for deployment, then it will take at least a week (or two) to get to Cyprus, if we want to send a ship to the straight of Hormuz, that would probably take even longer,

The UK may as well not bother.

The whole NAVY should be on standby for immediate deployment, so loaded up with everything needed (inc fuel) so it can just go.

It should have been on standby when the uS first sent it's Armarda, even if just to protect UK interests such as bases.

Not that we should be getting involved.

So what you are saying Mr Trump is after causing chaos in the middle east, launching an illegal war agains a sovereign nation, murdering their leader, killing 1000+, including some how accidentally blowingup a school killing 150 mostly children, civilians, (on 'claims') the country was about to attack, you expect other countries to go in to defend against the consequences, but their Army, Navy and Air force in the firing line and risk terror retaliatory attacks elsewhere in the world.

To paraphrase part of the 'Dads Army' theme tune "Who do you think you are kidding mr Trumpy'

I know that the free software / open source software community, along with the Fediverse do not always see eye to eye with the big tech companies, but should we JOIN with big tech on this one.?

BBC news now reporting 1000 casualties. Needless loss of life, however is there a breakdown for civilian casualties, goverment casualties, security / army / police casualties. We should count family members of regieme members as civilians however.

Time for some deeper breakdowns so we can see who is being impacted.
