A long time ago, in a galaxy right here, I did a Ph.D. at Penn, studying lots of things (I once knew the country of tradition for the notches in log cabin construction, but that's another story). Mostly studied writers and readers and the worlds they create between them. Now, I'm an arts writer, fiction writer (contemporary fantasy, and epic fantasy as Curt Benjamin). Photography is art. The Philadelphia Ballet is doing Ronald Hynd's Merry Widow right now, and it is a surprisingly yummy combination of farce, romance, and Franz Lehár's dreamy waltzes.

Went to the premiere of Gentleman Jack at the #Leeds Grand #Theatre by #Northern #Ballet. Based on Anne Lister - famous local. One of the best things I’ve seen.
