Avec une commande d'Orite à longue queue !
Un tout petit oiseau de moins de 10g, qui se déplace toujours en groupes familiaux !
L'Orite construit des nids très élaborés, entièrement faits de mousses et lichens qu'elle tisse avec de la soie d'araignée ! Un chef-d'œuvre 🤩
Avec son minuscule bec trapu, elle nourrit principalement de petits invertébrés 🐛🕷️ qu'elle chasse sur l'écorce des arbres, souvent la tête en bas !

Managed to spend some time on #earthDay tending the specific wee bit of earth that we live on. First proper stint in the garden of the year. Decisions were made about which bits of lawn would be mowed & which would be left. Areas were cleared for planting. Bugs were uncovered to the delight of the local bird life (sorry bugs). Birds were booped (sorry birds).

On Sunday we visited our local RSPB site, Strumpshaw Fen.
Becky spotted a leucistic male Pheasant! We’d never seen one before, it was roaming in the horse paddocks next to the site.

Jay on the Move
The easiest way to catch a bird on the move is to already be snapping pictures when it leaves a known perch. Like this blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) leaping from a swing‑shaped feeder with a whole peanut in its beak. Honestly, it might have two.
