i think it’s time to redefine FLOSS: if it is funded or owned by an equity firm or a for-profit corporation, especially a publicly traded company, then it isn't. don't mean you can't make money. it just means the ownership should be either as a public good paid for with government funding, an NGO or, more precisely, a workers’ cooperative. #FLOSS should be public goods structured as #cooperatives. A $6bn question hangs over SUSE's sovereignty pitch https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/28/sovereignty_its_all_about_the/?td=rt-3a

My go-to SearXNG public instance is no longer available. If anyone has any alternative recommendations, I’d appreciate them! I’m also curious if anyone would be interested in collaboratively managing a server as a co-op. If that's you, please reach out! #Search #SearchEngine #SearXNG #Tech #OpenSource #Privacy #cooperatives

I did a thing! Almost three years ago, I launched a co-operative newspaper in Leicester. Now, we're officially in print 🥳 The Leicester Gazette is our revolution against a broken industry. #Media #News #Journalism #Cooperatives #Newspaper #Magazine #Nonprofit #Leicester
