I saw a post yesterday with a drought map and the KC area had some color. There is no way we're in any sort of drought. We were over average rainfall in Jan and Feb. Nearly over our March average just 6 days in. It's been low and slow w/ storms in between for nearly week. Deep, soaking rain. Not all at once. I don't think the account that posted it was intentionally being deceptive but it was another reminder to be deeply skeptic of everything. #KCWx #Drought #RainRainGoAway

Florida is completely covered in moderate to extreme drought. These conditions are hindering firefighting efforts in the Big Cypress National Preserve, where the National Fire has burned 35,000 acres as of March 5. #Drought #Drought2026 #US #Florida #NationalFire

The Aseler Bridge (built between 1887 and 1890) has actually been submerged and hidden in Lake Eder since 1924. During dry periods, which have become more frequent in recent years, Lake Eder experiences low water levels and many sunken relics, including the Aseler Bridge, reappear. #Edersee #Asel #Edertalsperre #Eder #LostPlace #Dam #Drought #Bridge #monochrome #Blackandwhite #Photography #Talsperre #Trockenheit #Austrocknung #Bruecke #monochrom #Schwarzweiss #Fotografie #monochromeMarch

Oceans may be protecting the world from a global mega-drought While drought risk is real – and rising – the planet is unlikely to dry out in perfect unison. Ocean patterns appear to act as a natural disruptor, preventing truly global, simultaneous drought across continents. #drought https://www.earth.com/news/oceans-may-be-protecting-the-world-from-a-global-mega-drought/

Sixth year of drought in Texas and Oklahoma leaves ranchers bracing for another harsh summer Drought cost the agriculture industry across Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas an estimated US$23.6 billion in lost crops, higher feed costs and selling off cattle from 2020 through 2024 alone. As rangeland dried out, it also fueled devastating wildfires. #drought #Texas #Oklahoma #Kansas https://theconversation.com/sixth-year-of-drought-in-texas-and-oklahoma-leaves-ranchers-bracing-for-another-harsh-summer-275219
