My friend who's currently being deported isn't really into politics. But he supported Donald Trump in 2024. My friend was scared of the cartels, and thought it was very important to keep them from operating inside US border. He's not wrong about that. But he believed the lie that ICE was only going to deport criminals. There is no word strong enough to describe how evil Republicans are for using the specter of cartel violence to secure immigrant support only to then round those same immigrants up and send them back into the danger they thought they were voting to avoid.
