About HALF of the deportation arrests ICE boasts about are literally just scooping up people who are already in local jails. The terrorizing sweeps of neighborhoods, schools and businesses actually yield only a tiny number of arrests of immigrants with criminal backgrounds or warrants. These tactics are effective only in spreading terror and fear in our communities.
