A Generation Ago Today is an album by guitarist Kenny Burrell featuring standards associated with the Benny Goodman Sextet and Charlie Christian recorded in 1966 and 1967 and released on the Verve label. Allmusic awarded the album 4 stars with its review by Scott Yanow stating "the now-obscure set has been out-of-print for quite awhile [sic] but the music is excellent" - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ43_i4Q2yw&list=OLAK5uy_l1AM18D5GSQldA8wMADDZI98DXR6R1bVI #KennyBurrell #PhilWoods #MikeMainieri #RonCarter #BennyGoodman #CharlieChristian #Jazz #VerveRecords #Music

Now! Hear! by Andy And The Bey Sisters, released on Prestige in 1964 Review by Michael G. Nastos Expressive vocalists hook up with Jerome Richardson (sax and flute), Kenny Burrell (guitar) for expansive treatments of jazz. I love that the first lines of the liner notes for this LP from 1964 by Joel Dorn are "We live in the age of the computer,. We have been area codes, zip coded and IBMed to the nth degree" https://ia600401.us.archive.org/21/items/cd_andy-bey-and-the-bey-sisters_andy-bey-and-the-bey-sisters/cd_andy-bey-and-the-bey-sisters_andy-bey-and-the-bey-sisters.pdf https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKt8dRdb5-4&list=RDPKt8dRdb5-4&start_radio=1 #AndyBey #AndyBeyandtheBeySisters #SalomeBey #VocalJazz #Jazz #Music #PrestigeRecords #JeromeRichardson #KennyBurrell

Cleopatra Feelin' Jazzy is a jazz album recorded in 1963 by Paul Gonsalves. Review by Stephen Cook ...Cleopatra -- Feelin' Jazzy finds the famed Ellington soloist in the prime company of hard boppers like pianist Hank Jones, organist Dick Hyman, guitarist Kenny Burrell, bassist George Duvivier, and drummer Roy Haynes. The band shines throughout, with Hyman's organ adding exotic film theater ambience on the two North cuts that kick off the album.. Switching over to more straightforward fare, Gonsalves and company stretch out on Burrell's "Bluz for Liz" (read Elizabeth Taylor, one of the leads in the movie) and Ellington's "Action in Alexandria."..Gonsalves impresses with both complexly swinging solos and breathy ballad statements. A very fine effort by one of the unsung giants of jazz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lyk4djvVxxU&list=OLAK5uy_lgeRc58SlOkMk7TSKFG7Be6_YqG6U2fvM #PaulGonsalves #HankJones #DickHyman #KennyBurrell #GeorgeDuvivier #RoyHaynes #MannyAlbam #ImpulseRecords #Jazz #Music #Cleopatra #Ellington
