Big Tech and the Far Right: Musk’s growing political role illustrates how concentrated private power in the tech sector is fuelling fascism. Through control of a major social media platform, amplification of far-right narratives and direct engagement with reactionary figures and movements, Musk has helped normalise extremist rhetoric and expand its reach. Check it out TNI's Mapping Fascim: https://www.tni.org/en/mapping-fascism #FarRight #BigTech #SocialMedia #Musk #X #fascism #musk #LeaveX #Disinformation

After about twelve hours, the same post had received more than 300 shares and likes on Mastodon, while it had only been shared three times and liked four times on BlueSky. I'm no social media expert, but it's amazing how reluctant people are to use Mastodon because of its lack of reach and interaction. If we bring more people here, the Fediverse could become the de facto public square. https://mastodon.social/@leavex/116127855796326212 https://bsky.app/profile/leavex.eu/post/3mfn6c3cg5k2f #Mastodon #BlueSky #Fediverse #SocialMedia #LeaveX

Cornwall councillors banned from using social media platform https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cdx479625dno "A town council in Cornwall has agreed to stop using a social media platform for official business. Marazion Town Council said it was one of the first 213 councils in Cornwall to ban the use of X. It was felt using the platform for anything the council wanted to promote went against both the local authority and town's "beliefs around tolerance, respect and inclusiveness" Via @bartonemo@fedi.nemo.earth #LeaveX #UK #Cornwall

Only 17% of Austrian MPs are still on X. Compare that to Sweden, 66%, the Netherlands, 63%, and the EU, 58%, that gap is striking. Finland is often cited as a leader in digital literacy and counter-disinformation. It makes me curious how Finnish politicians assess X today, as a neutral platform, or as an active disinformation risk. Which European country will be the first to seriously lead by example and walk away from this disinformation machine? #X #disinformation #Finland #LeaveX

RE: https://ec.social-network.europa.eu/@EUCommission/115762325563043978 Oh we have the same wish @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu I think it'd be a powerful move if you deleted your X account (a platform that has become a vector of misinformation and a cesspool of hate). By the way, your homepage states: "Follow us on" followed by the icons of Facebook, X and LinkedIn. I always found it odd, since those are algorithm-based U.S. companies and you are the EUROPEAN Commission. How about putting your Mastodon icon on your homepage? Thank you for your consideration #LeaveX #SaveSocial
