Been a bit foggy here first thing this morning. Reminded me of this shot taken around the lake at @centerparcsuk Longleat a couple of years ago. I love the simplicity of it. #minimalism #nature #monchrome #photography #outdoorphotographer

Ended the week and welcomed the weekend with Poppy Nogoods All Night Flight (The First Ascent) by Terry Riley, released in 1968 on The Letter Edged In Black Press Inc. in 1968 on reel to reel. There were only 25 original copies and they go for £1,500 https://gerrishfineart.com/product/poppy-nogoods-all-night-flight-the-first-ascent/ Blog The Hum describes the music as "... It is beautiful psychedelic droning swirl of delayed saxophone lines, and organ, and completely engrossing." https://blogthehum.com/2016/02/25/terry-rileys-poppy-nogoods-all-night-flight-the-first-ascent-from-sms-3/ https://www.dailymotion.com/video/xx63yc #TerryRiley #Minimalism #Music #ReeltoReel #AvantGarde

Ended Monday and welcomed Tuesday after a walk under azure skies with Three Strange Angels by Peter Garland, released in 2008 on Tzadik, Review by Anthony Tognazzini Released on John Zorn’s Tzadik label, THREE STRANGE ANGELS is actually a reissue of recordings made by avant-garde composer Peter Garland near the beginning of his career. The spare, lyrical compositions reflect Garland’s interest in traditional Native American and Mexican music, as well as the minimalist strain of American experimental music. With an ensemble that includes violin, harp, recorder, and percussion, Garland and company create delicate sonic tapestries that are as lovely as they are otherworldly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFo4Lu4It0c&list=RDLFo4Lu4It0c&start_radio=1 #PeterGarland #Music #AvantGarde #Minimalism #Tzadik

Ended Thursday and welcomed Friday after a walk with Persian Surgery Dervishes a recording of two live solo electric organ concerts, the first held in Los Angeles on 18 April 1971 and the second in Paris on 24 May 1972, by the avant-garde minimalist composer Terry Riley On Persian Surgery Dervishes Riley plays a Yamaha electric organ Andy Beta of Pitchfork explained: "With only an electric organ and Riley’s “time-lag” accumulator (a reel-to-reel that played back loops of his improvisations), Dervishes is four sides of oozing drones, percolating virtuosic soloing, and undulating waves of bliss. It’s layered so as to suggest spellbinding Islamic tile patterns, lava lamp globes, and infinity itself." - Wikipedia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqQ59i4PmGE&list=RDsqQ59i4PmGE&start_radio=1 #TerryRiley #Minimalism #Ambient #Organ #Music #Drone #Bliss

The weirdest part of self-hosting isn't the control, it's the silence. I logged into my dashboard tonight via the tunnel. No banner ads. No "suggested content" algorithms designed to doomscroll me. No tracking pixels firing off to a data broker in Utah, lol. Just my tools, sitting there, waiting. We really forgot what the internet feels like when it isn't trying to extract value from us every single second. It’s quiet here. I like it. #digital #minimalism #selfhosted #SmallWeb #AdFree
