Iranian officials confirmed that Israel carried out some of the recent drone attacks on energy and civilian sites in Gulf countries to provoke them into joining the war against Iran. According to Iranian sources, some strikes on facilities in Saudi Arabia and Oman may have been conducted by Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency, possibly using networks and drone warehouses inside Iran. Tehran says it is trying to locate and dismantle these operations. Iran denies attacking Gulf energy facilities and argues that Israel is trying to sabotage improving relations between Iran and Gulf states and push them into direct confrontation with Tehran. Khamenei è un criminale, ma non possiamo festeggiare una guerra”. Lo dicono gli studenti e le studentesse iraniane del movimento “Donna, vita, libertà” che hanno partecipato al presidio “No War” organizzato da Anpi Cgil e Arci sotto il consolato Usa di Milano. “Una piazza che dice no alla guerra” spiegano gli organizzatori che chiedono “il ritorno della diplomazia e del negoziato”. In piazza si radunano un centinaio di persone. Ma le anime sono diverse. Poco dopo le 18 compaiono alcune sparute bandiere del regime islamico. Una presenza non gradita dagli organizzatori che si dissociano ricordando che “non è un presidio a favore del regime”. Tra grida e spintoni, le bandiere vengono fatte spostare oltre al cordone di polizia. Ma non è l’unico momento di tensione. Poco dopo in piazza arrivano un paio di donne iraniane che ringraziano gli Stati Uniti per l’intervento militare in Iran. Vengono subito apostrofate come “sioniste e fasciste pagate dal Mossad”. A ricordare il senso del sit-in ci pensa però un altro ragazzo iraniano del movimento “Donna, vita e libertà” che con il suo intervento chiude la manifestazione: “Odiamo il regime islamico – hanno precisato gli studenti iraniani che hanno parlato al microfono – quanto odiamo Israele e gli Stati Uniti per quanto fanno in tutto il mondo”. Khamenei is a criminal, but we can’t celebrate war.” That’s what the Iranian students and students of the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement said who participated in the “No War” demonstration organized by Anpi Cgil and Arci under the US consulate in Milan. “A square that says no to war,” explain the organizers, who are calling for “the return of diplomacy and negotiation.” About a hundred people gather in the square. But the people are diverse. Shortly after 6 p.m., a few flags of the Islamic regime appear. This is unwelcome to the organizers, who dissociate themselves, remembering that “it’s not a demonstration in favor of the regime.” Amidst shouts and shoving, the flags are moved beyond the police cordon. But it’s not the only moment of tension. Shortly after, a couple of Iranian women arrive, thanking the United States for the military intervention in Iran.
