Peirce Island in New Hampshire was positively overflowing with nudibranchs last week. This image was captured with my Olympus OM-1 and Olympus 8mm fisheye lens to really show off the abundance of hydroids (nudi food!) and great visibility. This image features a pair of Flabellina verrilli that were each around 4 inches long. It was a beautiful day in the chilly water! Just a little preview from my dive at Peirce Island in Portsmouth, New Hampshire yesterday. I had seen Red-tipped Sea Goddess nudibranchs only once or twice before, but I saw probably 10 of them on this trip to the Bahamas. Most lived on dark colored sponges, but this one was out in the sand, which gave me a great opportunity to get in close for some super macro shots.
