Il San Rafael è noto per essere uno dei ghiacciai con il più rapido tasso di ritiro in Cile a causa del riscaldamento climatico Chile, a roar then a collapse: spectacular detachment from the San Rafael glacier. In the short film footage, a group of hikers managed to document the exact moment a giant ice block broke off from the wall of the San Rafael glacier. The images were filmed in the Laguna San Rafael National Park, in the Chilean region of Aysén, one of the most visited areas of Patagonia.
