The UK’s first Circular Construction Hub has opened in the Royal Docks, marking a step towards the Mayor of London’s target for the capital to be zero carbon by 2030. Backed by Sadiq Khan and Rokhsana Fiaz, the site aims to #reuse and #recycle construction materials that would otherwise go to landfill. Set to become Europe’s largest facility of its kind, the hub forms the first phase of a wider Circular Economy Village in Newham. It will support plans for 36,000 new homes and 55,000 jobs in the Royal Docks, including the Silvertown development, while helping cut embodied carbon.
