Dutch lawyer Arno van Kessel has been released after 260 days in pretrial detention. He was arrested on June 11, 2025, the same day he filed a lawsuit against Bill Gates, Ursula von der Leyen, Albert Bourla, and Klaus Schwab concerning COVID-19 vaccine policies. Special forces conducted an eight-hour raid on his home, holding his family at gunpoint. He was held in a maximum-security facility without trial until February 26, 2026. Authorities have not explained his release. The case highlights debates about pretrial detention and legal challenges to powerful figures. https://newsgroup.site/%d1%83-%d0%bd%d1%96%d0%b4%d0%b5%d1%80%d0%bb%d0%b0%d0%bd%d0%b4%d0%b0%d1%85-%d0%b7%d0%b2%d1%96%d0%bb%d1%8c%d0%bd%d0%b5%d0%bd%d0%be-%d0%b0%d0%b4%d0%b2%d0%be%d0%ba%d0%b0%d1%82%d0%b0-%d1%8f%d0%ba%d0%b8/ #Netherlands #RuleOfLaw #COVID19

A significant rebuke⚡from the SCCJ:🚨"Roberts, writing for the majority, says Trump's claim of an emergency to issue unbounded tariffs on whoever he feels like flies in the face of decades of law and practice." -K Cheney There's no absolute immunity for chief fascist‼️ #SCOTUS #RuleOfLaw #Tariffs #TradeWar #Constitution #Congress #USPol https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/25pdf/24-1287_4gcj.pdf

The arrest of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is sending shockwaves across the Atlantic. 🌊🏛️ Following his arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office, Mirror columnist Christopher Bucktin suggests a precedent has been set that the U.S. can no longer ignore. Key takeaways: ⚖️ Status ≠ Immunity: The arrest signals that status and titles no longer guarantee insulation from criminal investigation. 🇺🇸 U.S. Pressure: Bucktin notes that the UK's move puts immense pressure on U.S. authorities to address the "conspicuous silence" surrounding others named in the Epstein files. 💥 Systemic Tremors: Attorney General Pam Bondi once suggested full accountability could "bring down the government." Bucktin argues that if the rule of law "destabilizes" institutions, those institutions demand deeper scrutiny, not gentler handling. "The rule of law cannot function on the basis that some names are simply too significant, too connected, too politically sensitive to examine." Is this the beginning of the end for the "ecosystem of influence"? As Nesrine Malik points out international law (and its prohibitions) while often honoured in the breach, still needs to be asserted; international law is conventional & those conventions crumble if not continually (re)asserted: 'resisting the violation of rules & insisting on adherence, even if certainly in vain, is how norms are established & then maintained. Lying low & hoping that this too shall pass is cowardice, denial & historical illiteracy'! #politics #RuleOfLaw https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/jan/05/donald-trump-coup-venezuela-break-rules-regret
