This episode is our Apple 50th birthday special. We tell the story of the first era of Apple accessibility, which was entirely grassroots driven, by speaking with some of the people who lived it. And we fire up a virtual Apple IIE, let you hear some of the games people played, and what the speech sounded like in the 1980s.
We reflect on how the modern Apple accessibility era would not have occurred without the tenacity and input of the organized blind movement.

Thanks to those who let us know of the defect with Facebook for iOS where while the two-finger scrub gesture continued to activate the Back button, the button itself was not visible to VoiceOver. We immediately communicated this to the Facebook development team, and they have advised that their most recent build, 555.0.0., addresses the issue.
We appreciate the resolution, but also hope that Meta will strengthen quality assurance so that such #accessibility disruption is less frequent.

At its presentation at the #CSUNATC26 conference, @freedomscientific announced it is reversing its policy of denying Page Explorer to JAWS Annual Home License users. This was one of several concerns @President communicated to Vispero, and we welcome this decision.

We’re also joined by Gerald Hartig, and Quentin Christensen for a wide ranging discussion about NVDA’s past, present, future, philosophy and user experience.
